N5-Acetylornithine has been detected, but not quantified in, several different foods, such as red huckleberries (Vaccinium parvifolium), sweet marjorams (Origanum majorana), chanterelles (Cantharellus cibarius), rice (Oryza sativa), and cassavas (Manihot esculenta). This could make N5-acetylornithine a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on N5-Acetylornithine.
