Description | Rhoifolin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavonoid-7-o-glycosides. These are phenolic compounds containing a flavonoid moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to carbohydrate moiety at the C7-position. Rhoifolin is found, on average, in the highest concentration within grapefruit/pummelo hybrids (Citrus paradisi X Citrus maxima). Rhoifolin has also been detected, but not quantified in, several different foods, such as quinoas (Chenopodium quinoa), triticales (X Triticosecale rimpaui), german camomiles (Matricaria recutita), rice (Oryza sativa), and oriental wheats (Triticum turanicum). This could make rhoifolin a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. Based on a literature review a significant number of articles have been published on Rhoifolin. |
