Chemical Information
FooDB Name5-Deoxykievitone
Description5-Deoxykievitone belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 8-prenylated isoflavanones. These are isoflavanones featuring a C5-isoprenoid unit at the 8-position. Thus, 5-deoxykievitone is considered to be a flavonoid. 5-Deoxykievitone has been detected, but not quantified in, several different foods, such as yellow wax beans (Phaseolus vulgaris), gram beans (Vigna mungo), green beans (Phaseolus vulgaris), pulses, and common beans (Phaseolus vulgaris). This could make 5-deoxykievitone a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 5-Deoxykievitone.
