Chemical Information
FooDB NameIsorhamnetin 3-sophoroside 7-glucoside
DescriptionBrassicoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavonoid-7-o-glycosides. These are phenolic compounds containing a flavonoid moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to carbohydrate moiety at the C7-position. Brassicoside has been detected, but not quantified in, spinaches (Spinacia oleracea) and swedes (Brassica napus). This could make brassicoside a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Brassicoside.
