pyridoxal phosphate (plp) is the active form of vitamin b6 and is a cofactor in many reactions of amino acid metabolism, including transamination, deamination, and decarboxylation. seven forms of this vitamin are known: pyridoxine (pn), pyridoxine 5’-phosphate (pnp).
